Part 2 – Sammy makes some progress with his fear of the car

Poor Sammy is so incredibly anxious of getting in and travelling in the car. Sammy is a rescue and his history is unclear. It will take time and patience for Sammy to learn to trust getting in the car.

Lots of progress can be made with a gentle approach. See in the video how we let Sammy make up his own mind about jumping in the car, I just motivated him to get in there by himself by planting tasty sausage he could smell (and found irresistible!).

Sammy’s owner had decided that she would like to teach Sammy to travel on her passenger seat wearing a safety harness. So we worked on getting him in the front of the car this time. Sammy did great! How pleased does he look with himself at the end of the video?!

Sammy’s owner is planning to feed Sammy his dinner in the car when she has time for the next few weeks. This will help Sammy enjoy being in the car even more.
